Italian fashion goes phut!

Italian fashion goes phut!: Formally trained as an architect, Gianfranco Ferre is known to treat fashion design with meticulous attention to form, structure, and balance. Ferre first entered the fashion world with accessories, and later, launched his own label, Baila, in 1974. Signature, a women’s and men’s collection, then followed, and soon Ferre debuted with his couture line in 1986.

Ferre claims a trip to India early in his design career to be the moment he grasped the oriental understanding of simplicity in line and colour. In India, Ferre learned “the notion that purity is the goal of all good design.” Sadly, that wasn't on display on IMS Vikant.
